Our Christmas Tree

So we by no means have the most amazing Christmas tree. It is definitely on the smaller side of things but we have had it since we have been married and it works for us and the house since we have a small house. Anywho- Jayanne loved helping us put it up this year.
Helping with the lights

Learning how to put on the ornaments

Doing it by herself

See its by no means amzing but it works. We have yet to find a tree topper that doesn't look ridiculous. Most of them are just huge on top of the tree that we take them back. We also have yet to change the tree skirt from red to silver like we did the decorations but its our little tree.

Brian's favorite ornament! GO RAIDERS!

Daddy's Girl

So there are certain things that Jayanne loves to do with daddy and daddy only.
She loves to come home from church and watch football with daddy. In fact if daddy isn't home we don't watch football. That is a daddy thing only apparently.

She also loves to play Call of Duty with daddy. Her controller doesn't have any batteries in it but she can push those buttons like no other. She always askes daddy if she can play his game with him.

Jayanne loves her daddy.

Fall Time

So the other day we went over to my brother-in-law Chris' house to help Chris with something. Well, Brian helped with something. Anyways, Michael was raking the leaves and Mckenzie was technically supposed be cleaning inside the house but she took Jayanne outside to play instead. They ended up playing in the pile of leaves that Mike had raked but she had so much fun no one really had the heart to tell her to stop.

I think this picture is hilarious. Chris threw her up so high that her head went out of the shot. It was funny.

Happy Halloween!

So I know that Halloween is past but I just wanted to share a few pictures from the holiday.
At our wards trunk or treat. Most of the primary presidency and kids.
Porter, Diana, Jayanne, Kailynn, Tana, and Daxton

Daxton and Jayanne

The parents trunk or treat.
Jayanne, Grandma Stephens, and Zach

Jayanne as the Pirate Princess
Ok so at our wards trunk or treat they also had a carnival and as a primary we had them play, instead of a calk walk, a candy walk. We have like 85 primary kids and we didnt want to cook that many cakes so we just handed out candy. Anyways, Jayanne loved it! She probably played it for like 30 minutes straight. She didn't want to do anything else. It turned out to be alot of fun.
Having lots of fun. After every number was called out she would run up to me and say that she won and run back to her number. It was funny.

The candy she got.

What she did with the candy that she got....weird right? She does this with everything!

Ready to go!

Pumpkin Picking

So last week we went to get some pumpkins for Jayanne with Brian's parents. And I must tell you that I had no idea how hard it would be to pick a pumpkin. Jayanne went from pumpkin to pumpkin to pumpkin and for a while I thought we were never gonna find one that was good enough. They were either too dirty or too small or too big or something was wrong with the pumpkin. After she dragged grandma around and around she finally admitted to Jill that she was just teasing us and picked out two of them. It was a fun night. The next day we just put the pumpkins on the porch and Jayanne told that she just loved it. So now I don't know if we are even gonna do anything with them since them sitting on the porch is good enough. We'll see.

Salsa

So I made some salsa for the first time this past week and it turned out pretty good. I had help from my mom the first time I made it. We ended up making a second batch for my mom and Julie was able to be there to help with that. Not gonna lie, I'm pretty impressed with myself. Thanks to my mother-in-law Jill for the receipe. And thanks to my mom and Julie for helping.

Random pics of Jayanne

So I have nothing to post about since we haven't done much of anything lately but I do have some pics of Jayanne that I would like to share.
So we don't watch TV on the couch, we watch from the stairs....

or the sugar bucket, whichever is closest.

She loves to help mom cook. She did so good helping me with the Cinnamon Roll Cake. It was late when we made it as you can tell by her eyes. She was very tired.

Trying to learn to ride her Trike

As you can tell our fence has some places that need to be fixed.

But she couldn't see daddy on the other side of the fence so she found a way to see him.

Family Rivalry

So I am a BYU fan and Brian is a Utes fan (I know but what can you do?) Anyways, I was way excited to watch the game. And yes I was thoroughly disappointed in my team but its still fun to poke fun at Brian when the Utes screw up. We watched it at his parents place and I got insults from not only Brian but his dad as well. It is what makes football football. It was really fun. Jayanne is a BYU fan mainly because I am usually the one the dresses her in the morning and she doesn't have any Utes clothes so its BYU for her. I even taught her to say GO COUGARS!! and to say Come on man! Which is absolutely funny to watch her say. She gets all dramatic and throws her hands in the air and just shakes her head. It was really funny. It was awful game as a BYU fan but I will say this, the Utes totally deserved to win if BYU was gonna play the way they played. But I will always be a BYU fan.

And what did Jayanne do while the game was being played, besides watch BYU lose....she played with grandma's princess dolls.

Baby Adilyn

So my sister Sheri had her baby girl a couple of weeks ago, Adilyn. It was fun to go up to Richmond and spend a day with her and the kids. Jayanne loved holding Adilyn. She calls her Allen for some reason, she just can't seem to get the d sound out when she says her name. It was weird for me to hold a baby that was that small. I was certain I was gonna drop her or something but apparently holding a newborn is like riding a bike. You don't forget how. She is such a precious baby. She was so content to just sleep the entire time I was there. The only time she was awake was for feeding but then she was right back to sleep. What I would give to have Jayanne back to that point. Anyways, it was a really fun trip. Jayanne got to play when Ben and Brooklyn and I got to catch up with Sheri and my mom.

Fishing with Grandpa!

So for Father's Day we gave my dad a fishing trip with Jayanne. We were able to coordinate our schedules and went this morning. We went to Syracuse Pond. None of us has ever fished there before so we had no idea what it would take to get the fish to bite. We didn't ever find out either. Yep that's right, no fish whatsoever. But we had a lot of fun. We got to fish and Jayanne got to chase the ducks. I was glad that I was able to go fishing with dad again. It had been awhile and some of my best memories are fishing with him so it was great to add another one to them. It was also fun to see my dad fish with Jayanne. She just played more with her pole than anything but it was still fun to watch. She even let Brian fish with her. It was cute to see them together. All in all it was a great fishing trip. So Happy Father's Day daddy!

Helping Daddy

Jayanne loves to help. With anything. This past weekend we were able to pour the cement for our garden box in our backyard and she helped take off the cement forms and everything. The best part was her helping Brian shovel the dirt into the box. She is such a big girl it makes me wonder where the time has gone.
